Peter O’Neil, the prime minister of Papua New Guinea (PNG) will visit Brussels in July next year for key bilateral discussions with the European Union (EU).
This is the second meeting pertaining to first political dialogue held in Port Moresby recently.
The director for North East and Pacific European External Action Service Dr Gerhard Sabathil confirmed the Prime Minister’s visit to Brussels during a high level meeting held between officials from EU and PNG government.
The European Union is going to the polls in the next three weeks and a new parliament with a new president is expected to meet the PNG Prime Minister when he goes to Brussels” Dr Sabathil says
Dr Sabathil was in the country to hold discussions with key government departments to discuss subjects ranging from government priorities; the Bougainville referendum and climate change to future co-operation between the EU and PNG, trade, investment and sustainable growth.
